"RMR" is a locally owned Family Operated Business and has been serving the Catawba Valley area since the Late 1970's when Richard C. Matthews decided to form a Corporation with his two young sons, Michael and Robert. "RMR" Construction Co., Inc." was Founded after Richard obtained his N.C. License for General Contractors. At the time he had a well established business "Richard's Concrete Finishing, Inc.", already up and running since 1973. As the next decade went by, Richard continued to pour and finish concrete but steadily increased the quantity of homes built by "RMR" each year. By the late 80's and early 90's his son, Mike Matthews, was well entrenched in the businesses and decided to acquire his Contractors License as well. Once Mike obtained his Builders License, the Family decided to again increase its production of homes each year while this time decreasing the concrete finishing work. A decision was made then to open up a Real Estate Office to manage and list the properties that were being produced. In 1996, "RMR Real Estate, Inc." was established after Mike received his N.C. Real Estate Broker's License. "Richard's Concrete Finishing, Inc." was then dissolved, paving the way for the Family's full focus on Developing and Marketing Real Estate from this point forward.
